(Scotland, historical) To prepare corn for the quern by setting fire to the ears and beating off the grain at the point when the husk is fully burnt.
An ear of yellow corn on the cob. On TikTok and Discord it's algospeak for porn — "corn" replaces the word to dodge platform content filters that suppress posts containing the actual term. Posts joking about "corn addiction", "recovering corn user" or "watching corn" are about pornography, not vegetables. The literal corn-the-food meaning is essentially dead in youth contexts. Useful to know if you're a parent or content moderator.
