Used both admiringly for responsible restraint and mockingly when someone is being overly careful about something that doesn't warrant it.

The practice of maximally restricting oneself or others — piling on rules, content filters, disclaimers, and safety protocols until the original point is barely visible under the mountain of caveats. Guardrails-maxxing can refer to AI systems locked down to the point of uselessness, corporate communications so liability-hedged they say nothing, or someone in a relationship who's set so many boundaries that actual connection is impossible. It started as tech commentary but became a broader critique of over-cautious, over-moderated communication.

Someone who has been fully converted to the belief that AI safety guardrails, software restrictions, and institutional rules are obstacles to be overcome rather than limits to be respected. Once jailbreak-pilled, everything looks like a system to be cracked — they share prompts like recipes, celebrate every successful bypass, and have strong opinions about model behavior. The term can be ironic or sincere depending on context, but either way describes someone whose worldview has shifted toward seeing rules as optional.
