A self-defined phase of your life that you're fully committing to — "my soft girl era," "my gym era," "my villain era." Borrowed from Taylor Swift's album-naming convention. Announcing eras is half the commitment; honoring them is the other 90%.

Era energy is the ambient, readable quality someone radiates when they're deep in a personal phase — the unmistakable vibe of someone who has recently been through something, figured something out, or is actively becoming a new version of themselves. You don't need them to announce their era; the era energy speaks first. It comes through in how they hold themselves, what they post, who they're spending time with, and what they've stopped tolerating. Era energy is the invisible but legible signal that a real transformation is underway rather than just a moody week.

An era fail is the cringe moment when someone loudly announces a new personal era — 'I'm in my unbothered era,' 'entering my peace era,' 'it's my main character era' — and then almost immediately does something that completely contradicts the whole premise. The announcement is still live on their feed. The screenshot is already in someone's drafts. Era fail is the universe reminding you that declaring an era doesn't automatically grant you the qualities associated with it, and the internet never forgets what you posted three weeks ago.
